Inspired by the Zion Canyon Narrows, where the emerald green river runs beneath the slot canyon, centuries of erosion have created towering rock formations overhead. Memories of traveling the great American Southwest.
These works are highly textured, embedded with vintage newsprint, rusted silk, and layers of encaustic wax paint. They evoke the sense of time, water, and nature’s erosion; my memory of hiking into Zion’s Canyon Narrows.
