Workshops- private and small groups

 I offer private and small group instruction in my 600 sq. ft. studio located in Nashville Tennessee. Simply email me to make an appointment.  My workshops are 5-hour sessions and include all materials. I teach basic introduction to encaustic, and advanced instruction for those wishing to refine their skills or seek advanced topics in portrait, monotype or mixed media.

I'm a teaching artist for R&F Paints, Enkaustikos Paint, and for the International Encaustic Artists Association. I've been teaching encaustic for 5 years and it's a great joy for me. 

 

What's Included in your Basic Introduction to Encaustic?

​​​​​I demonstrate basic techniques, how to use hot wax and mixed media materials. Then students have hands-on studio time. I will demonstrate fusing, layering, image transfers, stencils, texture, inscribing, and collage. I provide pigment sticks, oil pastels, stencils, collage ephemera, photo transfers and all you need for lots of fun discovery and experimenting. Expect to take home 1-2 finished paintings and your practice boards.

Cold wax is exciting because it can be combined with acrylic, used on canvas, and it does not need heat or electrical equipment.
